Cumberland is one of the newer Tennessee State Parks. Activities such
as
hiking, camping, picnics as well as a museum and other programs are available
here
atop the Cumberland Plateau on US 41 A. The visitor center is located between
Monteagle
and Tracy City and there you can obtain hiking maps, a schedule of
free
public programs and guided hikes as well as camping information. The doors
are
open at 7:00 a.m. until sunset year-round. Pets are welcome in all areas of
the
park with the exception of Hobbs Cabin back-country campsite, but they must
be
kept on a leash at all times.
The area lends itself to wonderful hiking, rock climbing, photography, camping and relaxation. Here are pictures of what you might expect to see if you partake of these activities.
